A mission to change the trajectory of minority owned businesses!

My Black and Brown is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by Kawana Marshall, a serial entrepreneur, with the mission to increase the number of successful and sustainable businesses owned by people of color (POC). The mission of the organization is to provide the needed resources, visibility, and capital to black and brown owned businesses. Our mission is also advance racial equity. Racial equity refers to the condition where individuals from all racial and ethnic backgrounds have equal access to opportunities, resources, and protections. It aims to address historical and systemic injustices that have led to disparities based on race, ethnicity, and culture.

Kawana discovered that some entrepreneurs simply didn’t possess the foundational skills such as sales, marketing, and business management needed to grow and sustain their businesses. Others, however, were well-versed and highly successful in marketing and scaling their businesses, but were noncompliant with their taxes, labor laws, and annual filings. Thus, My Black and Brown Inc. was birthed out of the desire to fill the gap in resources, visibility, and capital to black and brown owned businesses. Although, the primary focus is on black and brown owned businesses, all entrepreneurs with gross revenues below $2M annually are welcomed.
